President Donald Trump said on Friday that he was ready to resume his friendship with the leader of Noord -Korea, Kim Jong Un, and called it a huge possession for the world. '
During his first term, Trump met Kim three times, including one visit to the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea.
“We will have relationships with Noord -Korea, with Kim Jong Un,” he said during a press conference that stood next to Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. “I got along very well with him, as you know.
“I think I stopped a war.”
His warm words only come four days after State Secretary Noord -Korea made it angry by calling it a 'rogue state'.
Pyongyang, for his part, pushes Pyongyang with his weapon program. This year it has already tested ballistic rockets, hypersonic weapons and strategic cruise missiles.
Trump said he discussed the status of North Korea with Ishiba.
And he emphasized his willingness to conclude deals with the pariahs of the world.

Trump used a press conference on Friday to say that he was ready to renew his relationship with Kim and say that it was 'a great possession for the world'
A few allies confused that attitude during his first term, who feared that the meetings with Kim allowed him to the world stage without having to make concessions or bring back his nuclear stock.
But Trump said that the approach was vital for stability.
“If I can have a relationship with not only him, but also other people around the world where there seem to be difficulties, I think that is a huge possession for the world, not just the United States,” he said.
For his part, Ishiba explained the big whole when he described their earlier meeting.
'As far as Noord -Korea is concerned, we have confirmed the need to tackle its nuclear and rocket program, which is a serious threat to Japan, the US and then, and that Japan and the US will collaborate on the entire denuclearization of Noord -Korea , “he said.
Trump previously welcomed him in the White House: “I love Japan,” when reporters asked what his message was for the country.
Later in the Oval Office, Trump said they would work together to get the American trade deficit to 'even -all'.
“It should be pretty easy to do,” he said. “I don't think we have a problem. They also want honesty. . '

President Donald Trump meets Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba in the Oval Office of the White House, Friday 7 February 2025, in Washington.
A senior civil servant of Trump administration said reporters that the leaders would discuss military training exercises, discuss the cooperation in the field of defense equipment and technology, foreign investments and energy.
In less than three weeks in office, the President has increased foreign relations by threatening trade wars and revealing a plan to become the owner of the Gaza Strip.
But he has adopted a more conventional approach to the Indo-Pacific region if he wants to keep China under control.
“The United States are proud of our long and close alliance with Japan,” said the official.
“Our two countries will continue to work together to ensure that we cancel threats in the region by our full range of military capacities.”
