Researchers on Long Island have released hair -raising new sketches of non -created victims of murder – in the hope of details such as their crooked teeth and a distinctive blockage Sandal can be the key to resolve their cold things.

The cold case unit of Suffolk County District Attorney has unveiled five artists and sketches and gave the audience a look at what the victims looked like before their death.

The bodies were found on Long Island – the hunting areas of the alleged Long Island Serial Killer Rex Heermann.

The breakthrough could finally crack some of the most ghostly unsolved cold cases of Long Island and some of the oldest unsolved crimes in the province.

'Sometimes it is useful to receive information from the public based on new information [in an investigation]”The public prosecutor told Ray Tierney of Suffolk County to NewSday.

“That is what these cases represent. Some additional information about the cases in which we think, if we provide it to the public, we can move the matter even further. '

The facial reconstructions, now displayed on the office website of the public prosecutor, are the result of a collaboration between police artists of Suffolk County, FBI experts and an external laboratory.

A team of 15 specialists has worked tirelessly as part of a Task Force in addition to the Suffolk police and other authorities.

The unit, which came from the Task Force by Gilgo Beach in April, is confronted in April with the discouraging task of revising more than 300 cases that goes back to 1965.

With the help of advanced DNA tests and forensic research of human remains, researchers hope to finally give these faces a name.

The assessment cases show a hair -raising history of the crime of Long Island, which extends from 1978 to 2012.

Every sketch released is one Vital tool in the mission of civil servants to receive help from the public when identifying the remains.

One of the most promising leads is a male victim who found a 'New Jersey' T-shirt along Northern State Parkway in March 2000.

His most distinctive function? A set of curved teeth that researchers hope that someone might remember.

Retired NYPD SGT. Joe Giacalone, now Deputy Professor at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, emphasized the importance of such details.

“If you don't take it out, there is a 100 percent chance that you will not get the ID outside of DNA, of course,” he told NewSday.

“Most people are killed by someone they know,” he added. 'Identifying the [victim] Take a step forward with regard to perhaps find who was responsible. '

One of the most spooky things started in 1978 when a man with a metal detector found a human skull in East Beach in Heckscher State Park.

What started as a routine afternoon on the beach turned into a nightmare when the man saw a 30 -inch hole in the sand – just to see stare at the skull.

The victim, called 'Heckscher Park Jane Doe', was found with a belt horror around her neck.

Now advanced forensic work has revealed that she was probably between 18 and 22 years old when she was killed tragically in 1975 or earlier.

Together with the skull, a blockage sandal of her was also discovered.

“It's really a staggering affair,” then Sucklak murder. Bill Schwalback told NewSday.

'There is a minimal amount of evidence here. The only way we will solve this is with the help of the public to identify her. '

The investigation has taken a turn with advanced DNA tests that shattered old assumptions on the background of the victims.

The Sayville Jane Doe – previously considered white or Spanish – has now been identified as being of Brazilian or Portuguese descent.

Another victim is now considered of the Bosnian, Croatian or Yugoslav heritage, while the Manorville John Doe is linked to Colombian descent.

District lawyer Tierney remained carefully optimistic about the progress of unity.

“With the cold cases you only reveal evidence if you think it will benefit your research,” Tierney told NewSday. “Sometimes the most advantage is that you can give your research if you do not release information.”

“That's where the big way of extra evidence is,” he added. “There have just been so many changes in forensic science.”

Their mission has received a crucial boost in the form of a $ 1 million subsidy from the US Department of Justice.

According to official documents, the project is intended to tackle unresolved violent cold cases in which suspect DNA profiles have already been identified.

At the same time, it is intended to improve the forensic possibilities of the province and to reduce the overwhelming disadvantage of unsolved violent crimes.

This is only a month after the suspect Gilgo Beach Serial Killer Rex Heermann was accused of killing a seventh victim.

Heermann was charged for the 2000 murder of Valerie Mack in a courthouse in Long Island on Tuesday morning.

Mack was a 24-year-old Filadelphia woman who disappeared 24 years ago. Partial remains were found in Manorville in November of that year, Long Island.

Heermann is accused of the murder of Mack after her body was re -examined with the help of the latest DNA analysis.

He addressed Judge Timothy Mazzei directly while Tierney outlined the violations.

“Honorable, I am not guilty of one of these charges,” the accused people flipped out as he shook his head.

Members of the audience in the gallery heard mutter, 'yes right' and 'f ** k you' in response.

Heuerman, 61, was arrested in 2023 and accused of the murder of six women – of whom at least four sex workers were before their death.

Heermann's wife Asa Ellerup said in October that she still does not believe that her husband is guilty of the horrible murders.

Ellerup – who applied for a divorce from her husband last year after his alleged crimes were exposed – issued a statement to his last court that refuted claims that her husband killed six women.

Her lawyer Robert Macedonio said: 'Rex' arrest, the allegations have shattered their world as they knew it. After having spent almost three decades with her husband, it is difficult for her to imagine that he would commit the horrible acts that he is accused of.
