Former NFL player and head coach Dick Jauron died at the age of 74 after a short fight against cancer.
The daily item in Massachusetts reports that Jauron died early on Saturday morning.
After having spent eight years in the competition as a player, the ex-security of almost 30 years as a NFL coach, in particular the management of the Chicago Bears and the Buffalo Bills.
Jauron was head coach of the Bears of 1999-2003 and won the coach of the year prize in his third season at the helm after Chicago went 13-3 and reached the NFC division competition.
Three years after leaving soldiers field, he was hired by Buffalo, where he went 24-33 before he was fired in November 2009.
