The Lancashire police were also present when they initiated road closures. In an update, The Force said: 'We are currently helping the fire brigade with an incident at Parliament ST, Lancaster.
'This has resulted in countless road closures: Cable Street van Sainsburys towards Greyhound Bridge, Parliament ST (both directions) and Back Caton Road are all closed.
“You are advised to avoid the area that can be closed for some time.”
