Patrick Mahomes' mother said that her father 'hangs on' in a hospice to try to see his grandson in the Super Bowl on Sunday.
She revealed in January that her father's health had taken a turn, but she still came to New Orleans to support her son while trying to secure the 'three-level' with the Chiefs of Kansas City.
Randi said to people: 'I know it has meant a lot to him (that Patrick is in another super bowl). And I think he is satisfactory because he wants to see his grandson do something great or just let him play.
“I mean, he must be such a proud grandfather, so proud. And my mother was very proud and his other grandparents. '
Mahomes 'mother added that she updated the Chiefs' Quarterback about the help of his grandfather, but tried not to 'bolt' prior to what a career-defining game could be.
She repeatedly spoke on social media about her father, Randy, and his poor health, but has never revealed exactly what the issue is. Randy became 78 on January 6.

For the Chiefs star Patrick, the news also comes weeks after the birth of his third child, a second daughter named Golden Raye.
Randi Mahomes went to Instagram during the holidays and asked for prayers for her father, Randy and in September shared a photo of herself that Patrick and Chiefs looked out of her father's hospital bed.
“Prayer fighters please pray for my father,” she wrote on September 13, while the Chiefs played the Los Angeles Chargers. “He is in the hospital and is not good.”
She also shared a photo of her father from the hospital on Thanksgiving and said she was very happy to celebrate with him.
In the meantime, Patrick took the time to decompcrimage from an intense build -up week on Friday evening.
He went out to dinner with his wife Brittany and teammate Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift in the Trendy Magazine Street for dinner.
Brittany had arrived in New Orleans earlier that day and she is ready to bring their newborn baby to the Super Bowl on Sunday.
