Two people are finally accused of the mysterious murder of a young female soldier, found in a puddle of blood with 68 stab wounds in a dormitory.
The police arrested two suspects – including the victim's own husband – in the horrific murder of private – first class Katia Dueñas -aguilar, who was found dead on May 18, 2024.
Sofia Rodas, 35, is accused of murder in the first degree and tampered with evidence, the Clarksville police announced in a press release.
In the meantime, the victim's husband, Reynaldo Salinas Cruz, 40, is confronted with accusations of tampering with evidence in connection with the death of his wife.
The two suspects were extradited to Clarksville on Friday after they were held on non -related federal charges.
They received their sealed charges in the prison of Montgomery County.
“The successful progression of this case emphasizes the critical partnership between local law enforcement and military authorities in tackling serious crimes that influence members and their families,” said the police in the release.

She was found around 8:30 PM in a closed bedroom in the home of Tennessee.
Medical examiners determined that the young soldier died of sharp power in her neck in what they ruled a murder.
Dueñas-Aguilar came to the army and completed basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Eisenhower in 2018.
She was then assigned to the (Air Assault) Combat Aviation Brigade of the 101ST Airborne Division, whose Lieutenant -Kolonel Tony Hoefler gave a Military.com in the aftermath of the discovery.
At the time of her murder, the grieving mother of Dueñas-Aguilar hinted that someone within the army may have been responsible.
