A nine -year -old girl died after she had pulled unconscious from a swimming pool in the back garden.
Emergency services ran to the house in Rosaki Close, Edensor Park, in the southwest of Sydney, around 4.30 pm on Sunday afternoon after the child was discovered.
Allegedly, a bystander had given CPR until the paramedics arrived at the house.
Paramedics then hurried the girl to the children's hospital in Westmead, where she has died since then.
Various ambulance employees, including a medical team, including a doctor and paramedics from intensive care, treated the nine-year-old on the site.
A spokesperson for the NSW police said that officers of the Fairfield City Police Area Command investigate the circumstances prior to the drowning.
A report will be drawn up for the coroner.
