A senior agent was found dead in a police station in the CBD of Sydney.
Shocked colleagues found the officer in the Sydney police center in Surry Hills early on Monday morning.
The death of the officer, who is called 'a very sad day' for the NSW police, is not treated as suspicious.
“Early this morning, a 52-year-old senior agent was found in the Sydney police center in Goulburn Street,” said a police statement.
'The first questions indicate that the man's death is not suspected and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
“There is a critical incident investigation underway.”

Commissioner Karen Webb described it as a 'a very sad day' for the NSW police
NSW police commissioner Karen Webb attended the station on Monday to comfort the shattered colleagues of the officer.
“Our hearts go to the officer's family,” she said.
“Every support will be made available for staff and family affected by this tragedy.”
The newest tragedy comes two and a half years after a top murder detective was found dead on a station in the west of Sydney.
Detective sergeant Adam Child was dead of a shot wound at the police station of Ermington in August 2022.
