Moment serial burglars are chased down and arrested just yards from homes they had ransacked £28,000 of gold and cash

The moment that serial burglars were chased and arrested only 150 meters from houses where they had stolen £ 28,000 in gold and cash, was unveiled.

Officers hurried to the calls of a burglary in Chadwell Heath, East London, with two thieves on December 15.

Within half an hour the police had blocked escape routes and forced the pair of villains to flee on the main road.

Dramatic images show that officers sprint to catch the thieves – who were only meter in front of them – before they fascinate them on the street.

The villains were found with two gold rings, two golden bracelets and three golden chains, all of which were missing in the building.

A study discovered that the men were also central to other burglaries, including a test at a nearby address where a vault with £ 25,000 in gold and £ 3,000 was stolen in cash.

Geani Bogonos, 42, by Chadwell Health, and Vasile Filip, 26, from East Ham, were convicted last Monday to the Snaresbrook Crown Court after they have argued.

PC David Izard, the officer who is responsible for the investigation, said: 'Burglaries are a huge infringement of privacy and have a lasting impact on communities.

'As emphasized here, our officers responded to speed and showed real courage to follow, chase the suspects and hold.

“The team then carried out a thorough investigation that Bogonos and Filip showed that they were serial offenders – and eventually led them to be removed from our streets.”

He added: 'This is all part of the continuous reaction of the burglary. Our local community police teams continue to perform patrols in hotspot areas to offer a high presence of visibility, as well as advice of crime prevention.
