Experts have been alarms about blockbuster weight loss medicines such as Ozempic that keep users blind.

Various studies have linked the recordings to circumstances that cause inflammation and block blood flow to the eye, causing serious and sometimes permanent loss of eyesight.

Now researchers have detailed nine new reports from American patients who have gone blind after taking Semaglutide or Tirzepatide, the active ingredients in Ozempic and Mounjaro respectively.

A woman injected one dose of semaglutide for her diabetes and woke up in her left eye the next morning.

This led her to stop the medicine for two months before her diabetes forced her to go on again. Two weeks after Restart, she also lost the vision in her right eye.

Another woman who had taken semaglutide for a year woke up one morning with a 'painless shade' over her left eye. Testing revealed that blood vessels were damaged in her retina, which led to blindness.

And bleeding one suffering in his left eye after he had taken tirzepatide for a year. Doctors, however, told him that he should continue to take the medicine due to a lack of evidence that is linking his state to shots of weight loss.

The experts said that although the exact cause is unclear, medicines such as Ozempic that quickly lower blood sugar levels, can damage blood vessels in the eyes, leading to loss of eyesight.

The researchers wrote last month in JAMA -OOGHEALMOLOGY that it is not clear what the side effect could cause.

It has been suggested that the drugs for weight loss cause a sudden fall in blood sugar levels (because people stop eating junk food) that may damage temporarily blood vessels.

Last year, the American Academy of Ophthalmology published a press release in which patients were encouraged who experienced the loss of eyesight while they take semaglutide to stop taking the medicine and contacting their doctor.

However, the Academy has not recommended to use the drugs completely.

Health officials in Denmark, where the Ozempian maker Novo Nordisk is located, is currently investigating the ties between semaglutide and loss of eyesight.

The new report described the cases of nine adults who took semaglutide or tirzepatide.

The average age of the patient was 57 and the majority (56 percent) were women.

The patients came from Utah, Minnesota, New York, West Virginia and Ohio.

The researchers discovered that seven patients were diagnosed with non -arteritic ischemic front optical neuropathy (NAION), a condition in which blood flow is blocked to the optical nerve. The optical nerve helps to convey visual information from the retina from the eye to the brain.

A woman in the fifty developed afterion the day after her first semaglutide injection.

She woke up the morning after the injection with 'painful loss of face' in her left eye.

Tests revealed swelling in her optical nerve and damaged blood vessels in her retina.

The women stopped taking semaglutide and her insulin, and her vision had become normal again two months later.

Two weeks after restarting Semaglutide to control her diabetes, the loss of eyesight returned. She was diagnosed with severe swelling of the optical nerve and her vision returned to normal seven months later.

It is unclear whether she stopped semaglutide a second time.
