A television interview with a Labor Minister took an unexpected turn when he shot the ABC on one of his own programs.
Federal Industry and Minister of Science Ed Husic spoke with Patricia Karvelas about all things of Elon Musk And Ai Unpleasant Donald Trump And the Midden -East on Tuesday, when he brought forward the illegal termination case of Antoinette Lattouf towards the end of the interview.
The journalist launched legal steps against the ABC after her fill -in radio ended with a stint after three days in December 2023.
Lattouff claimed that she was told by the public broadcaster that she had violated her social media policy after sharing a post by Human Rights Watch about the war in Gaza, with the caption 'HRW reported hunger as a war instrument'.
The ABC previously claimed that Lattouf's claim about racial discrimination had to fail because she had not proven that there was such a thing as 'a Lebanese, Arab or Midden -Eastern race', but had suggested to submit a changed opening.
Lawyers withdrew his raceargument last Friday in the defense of the public broadcaster.
“I will probably put a lot of effort into saying this, but I don't know why the ABC -Legal team tried to make Antoinette Lattouf the difficulty in proving the ethnicity of Antoinette Lattouf,” he started.
'I think that children of migrants have often had to confront everywhere everywhere themselves.

“I think it's reasonable to expect better.”
Karvelas pointed out that the raceargumer had been withdrawn.
Mr Husic shot back: 'Yes, finally. I mean, the question is, why would you raise it in the first place? '
He was then asked whether or not Lattouf should have fired.
As the son of the Bosnian Muslim migrants who came to Australia in the late 1960s, Mr. Husic said that he felt for people from an Eastern Lebanese and Arab backgrounds who had to hear the Rasargument of ABC.
“I am the child of migrants and I just think there were many of us who were surprised that it would come in,” he said.
'You have to appreciate that that would have had an impact on children with those backgrounds who have had to tolerate a lot in the last two decades.
“I had expected better, as I said, I will probably be sad to say it, but to be honest, I think many people know how to watch, I speak what I mean.”

Karvelas told Mr. Husic that she had no problem with the spray of Labor MP in the broadcaster and said he was free to mention his opinion about her show.
Lattouf claims that she was fired because of her political opinion and race after the ABC bowed for printing from pro-Israeli lobbyists who coordinated the complaints campaign.
She is looking for compensation and fines against the broadcaster.
The ABC defends the case and says she ignored a direction to post nothing on the conflict of Israel-Gaza.
The broadcaster pulled his racing argument in his defense last week.
“We are now instructed as follows, the ABC is not in question, that is, it does not dispute that the Lebanese, middle -east or Arabic varieties exist, or that Mrs. Lattouf is one or more of those breeds,” the lawyer of The ABC, 'Ian Neil told the federal court on Friday.
The public broadcaster also made formal apology after confidential information regarding those who complained about Lattouf's views on the war in Gaza were accidentally announced to the public.

However, Mrs. Buttrose is sure that she has not insisted on the ABC to fire her.
“I didn't want her to replaced – I can't replace anyone, the chair can't do that,” she said
