A destroyed family is confronted with a medical bill of £ 10,000 to give their dog a life-saving skin transplant after it was dragged along a road through a hit and runa car bilist.
Charlie de Chow Chow, three, was seriously injured after he was dragged 100 feet along a road during the incident on Tuesday 4 February – only a few months after his family had canceled their precious pet insurance.
Owner Zoe Edwards, 44, said that the beloved dog had escaped from the house by a door that was opened while one of her daughters moved.
After he had not searched anywhere in the neighborhood, the family made a message on Facebook when they were contacted by a passer -by who brought him to a veterinarian after a serious crash.
“He had a lot of fire wounds at his back, he had a very big hole that was pretty serious,” said Zoe.
“When we brought him back to the vet, the gap looked like it was getting worse and they said he would probably have to go for a skin transplant.”
Now Zoe's family is confronted with the choice between extending veterinary accounts up to £ 10,000 or their beloved companion after canceling their pet insurance just before Christmas.
The family has already picked up more than £ 1,700 on Gofundme to help pay for the treatment of Charlie.
