Peter Mandelson said yesterday that Donald Trump was to lead 'one of the most consistent periods in modern America', while taking his new position as an ambassador in Washington.
In a cloying video, Lord Mandelson said that he was 'energetic because of the opportunity' to work with President Trump, whom he once described as a 'bully' and a 'threat to the world'.
The video, filmed in the palatial residence of the ambassador in the American capital, was designed to introduce the former business secretary to the American public.
He emphasized his background in the government and experience in setting up Sist successfully international international lobbying company Global Counsel and added: “I am ready to bring my policy knowledge, entrepreneurial spirit and experience to the role at the highest level of the government.”
He said that he and his husband Reinaldo “were very grateful for the warm welcome since our arrival.”
Mr. Trump Chris Lacivita's campaign leader burned Lord Mandelson an 'absolute idiot' who should stay at home after his criticism from the past was late for the president.

Lord Mandelson has since acknowledged that his earlier comments were 'poorly elderly and wrong', and added: “I think the times and attitude towards the president have changed since then.”
Yesterday he acknowledged that he is 'worried' about the imminent prospect of rates and said that Great -Britain 'is not necessarily agreed' with every detail of the agenda of the new US president.
Asked how the UK could try to persuade Mr Trump to change his position over certain policy areas without alienating his administration, he told the BBC: “Well, we have to assume all these issues when they come, realize that the president A very strong and clear mandate for change in the United States.
'That does not mean that we will agree with every detail of what he does in Britain, but we must respect and understand what drives him, what his mandate is to do and how his allies are needed sometimes.
“And I believe that, given the relationship we have, we can always make our opinion known – the best, direct and private.”
