Wrexham has confirmed that midfielder Elliot Lee was taken to the hospital after a car accident after their match against Bolton on Tuesday evening.
“Wrexham AFC can confirm that last night, after the Vertu-trophy match against Bolton Wanderers, a player in the first team (Elliot Lee) was involved in a traffic incident on returning home,” read a statement.
'The incident concerned another car and resulted in the drivers of both cars that were taken to the hospital. Emergency services were quickly on site and the club would like to thank them for their quick response and action.
'The player has not suffered any major injuries, while the driver of the other vehicle is treated for their injuries.
“The club will not give any further comments at this stage.”
Lee had recorded 1-0 win over Bolton in the Vertu-Trophy on Tuesday evening.

The midfielder had played 63 minutes from the draw before he was completed for replacement Ollie Rathbone.
Lee, the son of former Premier League -midfielder Rob, is an important player for Wrexham since he came to the club in 2022.
The 30-year-old was part of their back-to-back promotion-winning teams, which increased the club from the National League to League One.
Lee played 134 games for the Welsh side, which is supported by the Hollywood -owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mcelhenney, and scored 38 goals.
The midfielder has made 31 performances in all competitions this season, scored eight goals and offers four assists.
Wrexham is currently pursuing a third consecutive promotion with the third side of Phil Parkinson in League One.
The red dragons are four points on drift of the second placed Wycombe, which occupy the second automatic promotion place.
On Tuesday evening, Wrexham won a 1-0 win over Bolton on the Racecourse Ground, where Andy Cannon's goal earned them a place in the semi-final of the EFL trophy.
They will organize Peterborough United in the last four on 24 February.

“Although the disappointment of some smelly filthy pathetic creatures that my wife sent online, thanks for the messages of support.”
