Emma Weymouth and her aristocratic husband Lord Bath have submitted plans to transform an 'abstract art' garden into a 'family-friendly' area for their young children to enjoy the Longleat estate.

The mother of two, 38, who appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity MasterChef, is married to Ceawlin Thynn, 8th Marquess of Bath.

They moved to the historic estate, near Warminster, Wiltshire, five years ago after the death of Ceawlin's father Alexander, who was just as well known for his flamboyance and eccentric clothing feeling, like his several things with women.

The Aristocrat – which is thought to have no fewer than 70 things – lovingly referred to the women as his 'wifelets'. Several of them were given houses to live in the grounds of his vast estate while he lived.

Lord Bath, who was a regular characteristic of the BBC television show of Animal Park about his estate, died a few days after testing positive for Coronavirus in April 2020, 87 years old.

His businessman son, 50, initially installed a temporary swimming pool and play equipment for children to meet the needs of his young family, but has now submitted an application at Wiltshire Council for permission to create a permanent garden of higher quality.

The fresh works include the removal of the existing pond, planting and the temporary swimming pool, while installing a new swimming pool.

The new outdoor space also includes a gracefully reflective swimming pool, a new terrace, an outdoor kitchen and pergola.

Read documents to support the application: 'Longleat Estate is a national heritageactive, but is also the home of Lord and Lady Bath and their young family.

'The majority of the house is now a heritage attraction with shame through the formal rooms, but a series of accommodation on the western height is reserved for the family.

'There is access at the lower level of the apartment directly in the closed garden.

'The garden was designed by the 7th Marquis (Alexander) as an abstract artwork that is largely unsuitable for a younger family with limited space for children to play or adults to entertain guests.

“The goal is to create a high -quality family -friendly garden that fits the setting that will enable the house to stay a family house and to stay a living part of history.”

The applicant said that the formal private family garden would be “timeless and better match the heritage interest of Longleat House.”

It would also include a stone sunbathing terrace, an outdoor kitchen and dining area under a wrought iron pergola and a long 'canal' style of water grill with suitable antique water fountain.

Slowly growing garden trees, topiary and hedges would also be planted.

The applicant added: 'The goal was to create a high -quality family garden with which they can remain a resident on the estate.

“The application is not directly linked to the commercial activities of the estate, but is an important part of lifelong history, so that it can remain a family home for the 8th Marquis and his family.”

Computer-generated images show a stylishly designed garden with a large rectangular swimming pool and a stone plate path that leads to it.

A large white water fountain, sunburns and handled hedges also appear in the new outdoor space.

The Longleat Estate near Warminster, Wiltshire, is best known for the historic Longleat house, the surrounding park and in later years, the Safari Park and Attractions.

Longleat Safari and Adventure Park was formed in 1966 as a collaboration with the Chipperfield Circus, and was the first Safari park that was located outside of Africa.

The proposed site of the new garden and the swimming pool is located in the closed private garden adjacent Longleat House.

The applicant added: 'The private garden was first enclosed by Hedges in the 1940s in preparation for the opening of the estate for the public in 1949.

'This has grown up as a 3m high heg that creates a well -remote private garden in the middle of a busy commercial attraction.

'The current design was made for the 7th Marquess, Alexander Thynn, by Laurence Fleming in the mid -sixties.

“It is loosely based on the Chinese philosophy of Yin and Yang, with a shallow pond, fruit trees and decorative bushes that create the well -known Taoist symbol.”

A decision about the application is expected to be made in March.

The current Lord Bath took over the daily management of Longleat in 2010. He publicly rejected the 'wifelets' of his father, where the spit grew into a long -term gap between the couple.

And when Ceawlin married Emma McQuiston in 2013, she became the first black burggraaf of Great -Britain – but nor his father or mother, Anna, were present.

Despite the disharmony within the family, Emma brought a moving tribute to her father -in -law when he died in 2020.

On an Instagram post she wrote: “It is with the deepest sorrow that I share the news that my father -in -law, Lord Bath, died of the age of 87.”

Burggraaf Weymouth, as he was also known, was a productive amateur painter and studied art in Paris in the 1950s, where he was supposed to pick up his colorful taste in clothing.

The eccentric aristocrat had also done frescoes of the Kama Sutra so that he could decorate his lush house with erotic images.

In 2009 he was arranged in 359th place in the Rich list of Sunday Times with an estimated net value of £ 157 million.

He was trained on Eton and Oxford, where he was president of the famous Bullingdon Club.

Lord Bath was involved in politics and was in the very first European parliamentary elections in 1979, who represented the Wessex regionalist party that he helped.

After the inheritance of the Marquess seat in 1992, he was then in the House of Lords as a liberal democrat, but lost his chair when labor reforms excluded most hereditary colleagues.

The flamboyant Aristocrat was also a normal feature of the TV show of Animal Park on his estate.

TV presenter Ben Fogle paid tribute to Lord Bath on Twitter and posted a photo of him and his colleague Kate Humble with the owner of Safari Park.

He wrote: 'Destroyed to hear the sad death of Lord Bath. We spent almost two decades with the eccentric and colorful gentleman in Longleat Filming Animal Park.

“He will be missed. Send my love and condolences to the @emmoweymouth1 family and everyone on @longleat. '

Kate Humble added: 'Very sad to hear about Lord Bath from @longleat.

“Everyone will describe him as eccentric – and he was, glorious, but he was also friendly and fun – and we all need a little kindness and pleasure in our lives.”

Piers Morgan also fiddled him and described him as 'one of the most colorful characters of Great Britain'.
