Greenfield sites can be used for the drive of Labor to create a dozen new cities, said ministers today – as Keir Starmer.

The prime minister has unveiled plans for the 'largest house construction program since the post -war era' with the next generation of new cities.

He wants construction work to start within five years, and British construction workers are trained – instead of trusting foreign work. Ministers confirmed this morning that undeveloped Greenfield sites are probably involved.

But Sir Keir was unable to do media interviews about the plans during a visit to Milton Keynes this morning, because farmers organized a protest against changes in inheritance tax.

Around a dozen tractors and agricultural vehicles, the road blocked the development of Eastbrook. Musical horns were shocking about the construction site shortly after Sir Keir arrived.

Farmer Richard Miles, who traveled from Welford, Northhamptonshire, said, “We are not listened to at all, so we feel that we have to see him personally.”

While the car left the site with the prime minister, farmers could be heard to shout 'just talk to us'.

More than 100 potential new city locations throughout England have been presented, and recommendations about which will be followed this summer.

London, the southeast, southwest and east of England had the largest number of entries, but proposals were received from every region of the country.

Most proposals were for urban extensions to existing villages or cities, but some of the dozens of new cities that have been set up are on its own settlements.

Ministers want every new city to have 10,000 or more houses, together with affordable homes, general practitioners, schools and public transport.

Downing Street said that the new communities would be 'beautiful', which Sir Keir said yesterday that reporters meant 'well -designed', property -led property with 'variety'.

Sites are likely to occur in proposals for a large number of new cities that can be built in England, a minister has said.

Some 'independent' areas with an undeveloped country can be included in the recommendations of a task force that advises the government on its plans to 'penetrate the largest housing program since the post -war era', Matthew Pennycook suggested.

Labor has already committed itself to reclassifying some low quality areas of green land, such as unused parking garages and deserted industrial locations, which calls it the 'gray' belt.

The government says that these changes will help to make its promise to build 1.5 million new houses at the end of parliament.

In a conversation with broadcasters on Thursday morning, Minister of Housing, Mr PennyCook suggested that some of these areas within the recommendations of the independent Task Force that the government advised could fall on its new city plan.

“There will be something left, I know for sure, recommended on self -containing Greenfield sites,” he told Sky News.

'There will be a number of other, which is called urban extensions, but large extensions of existing villages and towns where that is suitable.

“(These have) must be sustainable places, as I say, they must be well connected, well designed.”
