The National Weather Service (NWS) today published several winter weather warnings for snow, ice, wind and extreme cold in parts of California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming and Montana.
Almost 2,000 flights on and from the American airports were delayed and more than 220 were canceled from Thursday morning, according to flightaware.com.
The storm will reach the eastern US on Friday evening and will spread to a foot snow over the Midden-Atlantic Ocean, large lakes and northeast up to and including Sunday.
Areas that probably receive 12 inches include Central Wisconsin and Michigan, together with Noord -New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.
