This is the emotional moment that a liberated Israeli hostage learned the name of his daughter who was born while being imprisoned by Hamas.
Sagui Dekel-Chen embraced his wife Avital when they were reunited after 498 days.
After cuddling for a few seconds, Sagui Avital asks what she called their third daughter, who is now older than a year old.
She replied that she called the Baby Shad Mazal. Shachar in Hebrew means 'Dawn' or 'Sunrise' while Mazal means 'Happiness' or 'Fortuin'.
Sagui has expressed his approval and says to say 'perfect' before he kisses Avital.
Crying in the shoulder of her released husband, it is then heard that he says, “You are a champion.”
Sagui was one of the three hostages released by Hamas on Saturday in exchange for 369 Palestinian prisoners.
He was one of the first to sound the alarm when Hamas militants entered Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, 2023. He was last seen at 9.30 am, said his father Jonathan.
