An alleged 'fire betting' has left a man with serious facial injuries in an apparent attack in broad daylight.
It was reported that gasoline was thrown on the 37-year-old before he was put in a popular South London park.
The incident took place in a park next to Oasis Academy School along Albert Road in Zuid -Norwood on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services arrived shortly before 3 p.m. where they met a man who had suffered burns on his face.
After their arrival on the spot, a 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of serious physical damage (GBH).
Detectives of ordinary clothing were also present in the aftermath of the incident that research has helped.
The locals had also reported that around the time of the alleged attack in the park took place in the park.
The alarming incident has left the local population in the close -knit community, according to a number of residents.

Speaking to the metro, a dog walker who visited the park, said: 'I use the park all the time that it is just terrible, especially because it is next to a school and in broad daylight.
“We are all scared here now, it's a very close community.”
A mother of two who live opposite the park, the metro said: “There were police and firefighters on the spot that there was a big furore and then the police seemed to look for the area.”
Given the proximity of the incident at the Oasis Academy, the police had warned about the school's senior lecturer, although no students were hit.
A police statement was striking with the incident: 'The police were called on Thursday February at 2.45 pm for reports of a gasoline incident reporting in the face of a man and set on fire in Albert Road, South Norwood.
'Officers and the London Ambulance Service lived and supported a 37-year-old man who suffered from burns.
“He was taken to the hospital where his injuries were not considered to be threatening.
A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of serious physical injury. He remains in police detention. '
In addition, a spokesperson for the London ambulance service said: 'We were called on Thursday, February 13 at 2.58 pm for reports of an incident at the intersection of Ferndale Road and Albert Road, South Norwood.
'We have sent ambulance censuses and a clinical team manager to the scene.
“We treated two people. We took one patient to a local hospital and fired the other patient on the spot. '
