Prisoners have torn strips of metal from laptops who have been handed over to them to make fatal weapons by governors, has revealed a damn report.
Unbelievable, convicted people who did this at Feltham Young Offenders' Institution in West – with around 120 prisoners aged 15 to 18 – were given replacement devices within 28 days.
A report of prisons watchdog The Independent Monitoring Board revealed the problem and closed the notorious prison for its policy to hand out laptops, including for violent gang members.
It also wondered whether the government and mayor of London Sadiq Khan do enough to tackle youth knife crime and gang culture that led hundreds of young people to be locked up 'with very long penalties for crimes of extreme violence'.
Last year Feltham was named the most violent prison in Great Britain. Attacks on guards and other prisoners had tripled to 431 two years earlier since his last inspection.
In January it turned out that a teenager had stabbed ten prison officers for the release of a terror attack. The 17-year-old Islamist cut off the ear from the someone and attacked another after he heard that he was not a Muslim.
Prisoners hide their homemade weapons in the waistband of their pants, making it difficult to find with the help of metal-detecting magic magic.
In their report on Feltham, inspectors wrote: 'Many boys come from communities where they wear knives.

A report of prisons watchdog The Independent Monitoring Board revealed the problem and settled the notorious prison for his policy to hand out laptops
'This year, boys have removed metal strips from laptops and bent the metal to a certain extent. A handle is made with bedwear.
“If it is hidden in the tops of pants, they can be difficult to detect with the metal-detecting magic wand.”
The report said that the number of weapons made from plugs in socks was reduced, and added: 'This year a large increase in sharpening materials has seen fashion lessons.
“Many of the young people show a very challenging behavior, sometimes with regard to improvised weapons against other boys and staff.”
The inspectors asked the Youth Guardian service (YCS) and the prison service to reconsider its policy to hand over replacement laptops to young people caught removing parts to make weapons within 28 days.
They also advised 'proactive steps to tackle the issue of prisoners who make and wear weapons in custody, and asked:' Will the YCs also look at the design of laptop are sharpened in weapons? '
In a letter to Sir Keir Starmer, the inspectors wrote: “What does the government do to tackle youth knife crime and gang culture, which leads young people to guardianship with very long penalties for crimes of extreme violence?”
They address Mr Khan and wrote: “To the mayor of London: what does he do to tackle knife crime and gang conflict in London?”
The report stated that there was 'at least one violent incident' in Feltham every day.
The Ministry of Justice said that although changes were made: “We know that there is much more to do.”
