Sex doll makers say they’re now using AI to ‘improve the user experience’

A Chinese sex puppet maker says it expects a huge rise time of 30%, because the company integrates AI that makes the dolls more responsive and more interactive. '

WMDOLLS, one of the largest sex doll manufacturers in China, said that the approval of artificial intelligence in their dolls was an important engine in the increased sale.

The founder and chief executive liu jiangxia of the company told the South China Morning Post: “It makes the dolls more responsive and more interactive, which offers users a better experience.”

The newspaper reported that WMDOLLS has integrated their dolls with specialized chips that can connect to various large language models (LLMS), including Llama AI from Meta, so that users can have conversations with their products.

But many fear that this can encourage people to use their dolls in extreme ways.

This week a man who kept a female doll in a 'hidden' room in a Western warehouse in Sydney was forced to deny that the rubber mannequin looks like a child and says there is no evidence that he used it for sex.

Michael Brereton is confronted with a trial in the Penithh court, where he has not guilty of one census of owning a childish sex doll.

The 56-year-old Van Quakers Hill admits that he has kept the doll in a storage facility in nearby Kings Park, but disputes that it looks like a person under the age of 18.

The court heard that the pop was 142 cm to 143 cm long (4'8 “), from 'relatively slim' build, with narrow hips and other characteristics that are consistent with the appearance of a child.

Commonwealth Officer David Jordan said that the doll also had 'visible breasts' and a vaginal cavity and vulva, who were consistent with the used as sex toy.

When the doll was found by the police, it wore a sleeveless slip or shift dress, joggers and a hair clip with the character Anna of the Disney animation film Frozen.

“It is the kind of hair clip that a child would wear, I'm going to introduce you to someone of 18 years or older,” Mr. Jordan told the jury.

The doll was naked and wore a waist-length wig on Wednesday when it was presented to the six men and six women who will decide whether Brereton is guilty.

A police officer used scissors to cut open a paper evidence and then stood up against the back wall of the court.

Senior Constable Hayley Birch used latex gloves to handle the doll and pulled her away from his face, so that the functions could be seen by the jury members.

Brereton, who has tattooed a few red lips on the left side of his neck, was in the dock while senior agent Birch then produced the dress and shoes that the doll had previously worn.

To prove the violation, the Crown must not only set up Brereton in the possession of the doll – which he admits – but two other elements of the indictment.

One of those elements is that the doll looks like a person who is or seems to be under the age of 18 ' – who violently denies Brereton.

The other is that “a reasonable person would probably consider that the doll was meant to be used by a person to simulate sexual intercourse.”

There are also great fears that AI Companies commit 'theft' on an 'industrial scale', according to One Labor MP.

Alison Hume is one of a number of Labor MPs who express concerns about the threat set by AI for the creative industry, in the midst of accusations that the government is paneling on technical giants.

Ministers propose that large technology companies can ignore traditional copyright rules when training their AI systems.

They suggest that creative organizations, including those in the music industry and publish, must register an opt -out if they do not want their work to be exploited by such companies. At present, their copyright is automatically protected.

In Parliament, Mrs. Hume said that she had discovered this week that the subtitles of one of her episodes of BBC drama new tricks were used to help write scripts.

The Labor Member of Parliament and Whitby told MPs: 'Twice a year I receive the royalties collected for me by the authors' Licensing and Collecting Society.

'I am reasonably paid for my original work when it is broadcast all over the world or on digital platforms.

'This week I discovered that the subtitles of one of my episodes of new tricks have been scraped and are used to make learning materials for artificial intelligence.

“Together with thousands of other films and TV shows, my original work is used by Generative AI to write scripts that can one day replace versions that are produced by purely people like me.”

She added: 'This is theft and it happens on an industrial scale. While the law is, artificial intelligence companies do not have to be transparent about what they steal. '
