About 300 of the 740 prisoners serve lifelong penalties, including serial killer Robert Maudsley, aka Hannibal de Kannibaal, and Mark Bridger, who killed the five -year April Jones.

Others are murderer Jeremy Bamber, who killed five – his mother, dad, sister and her two sons -pedophile Sidney Cooke, Aka Sissend Sid and Roy Whiting, who killed Sarah Payne.

Another prisoner is Pedophiel Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins, who was imprisoned for 29 years in 2013.

A total of 136 of the attacks 'prisoner on prisoner', with the other 136 attacks on staff.

The report states: 'The kitchen has long -term difficulties with the fryer.

'For a large part of the year, five or six of the fryers were broken.

'This influenced the food supply of the kitchen; Cooking chips was particularly problematic, to the great frustration of both prisoners and staff.

“Mitigation in the form of Rota -based was implemented to ensure that at least one wing was provided with an option for chips per week.”

Prisoners throughout the country normally get a choice of fish and chips, often served with moody peas, on Friday. A Christian tradition of not eating meat on Friday that goes back for centuries.

In 2019, the notorious prisoner Charlie Bronson – now called Charles Salvador – filed an official complaint after he had not received any chips with the fishing dinner – instead served Croquettes.

Salvador wrote to his friend Rod Harrison: 'You will not believe this … Friday fish and chips … No chips here, only fishing with croquettes.
