The legendary Mexican singer Paquita La del Barrio died at the age of 77.
The beloved artist, real name Francisca Viveros Barradas, died on Monday in her house in Xalapa, in the Mexican state of Veracruz, according to a statement on her Instagram account.
“With deep pain and sorrow we confirm the sensitive death of our” Paquita la del Barrio “in her house in Veracruz, a unique and non -resident artist,” said the explanation in Spanish.
“In this time of great pain, we respectfully ask all the media and the public to give us space and understanding, so that his family can mourn in privacy and peace.”
Paquita La del Barrio had fallen ill last month and had to cancel a series of shows.
