A Sandbanks Millionaire has offered his country house for sale after his plans to build a house was rejected 16 times as large as an average British house.
John Yeoman, 70, and his wife, Deborah, 68, wanted to descend their property in Poole, Dorset and replacing it with a vast superhome on the waterfront.
But Buren's objections have put a key in the making, and the couple now has their £ 8.8 million mansion – which is located in Sandbanks, one of the most exclusive resorts of the UK – on the market.
The couple argued that their plans had to be approved because their neighbor, Jeremy Gardner, recently built a four -storey tower that was nine centimeters longer than their house.
The dispute is one of a string that recently broke out as rich homeowners try to develop larger property in the well -to -do area.
The proposed five-storey replacement would be more than double the existing building at 17,000 m² and would have five bedrooms, a private apartment, an indoor swimming pool, a home cinema, boat storage, a bar and a lift.
The building permit was refused after Gardner, 64, complained that the planned real estate is '16 times as large as an average British house, and considerably higher and larger than one of the other two, three and four -storey houses on the water [in the area]. '

The Yeomans appeal to the refusal of permission and say: “The location is one that is experiencing change – homeowners demolish homes and replace them with larger ones.”
They claim that their proposal reflects the design trends of the road and emphasized that planners have approved Gardner's house to bring it in line with the scale of development that originated in the area.
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council said that the development would have an 'unacceptable and harmful effect' on the road.
While the Yeomans are waiting for a statement, their house is advertised for sale via the customized Sandbanks Estate Agency.
The agency describes the house as a 'on the water on the water that is now available for the first time since the construction'.
It has four bedrooms, a huge living room, a dining room and kitchen, a study and a gym.

Mr Gardener took care of the building permit to hit the building and replace it with an ultramodern, four -storey mansion. Mr. Gardner's new, larger house was completed two years ago
Outside there is an impressive 36ft -jetty, private lake and a slipway. There are also strikingly panoramic views of Poole Harbor from all three floors.
The real estate agency states that: 'The architectural design of this house is downright extraordinary.
“A custom -made build for the current owner, every detail has been carefully considered to completely embrace the South Westerly Watercape, making the house harmoniously integrated with its natural environment.”
The Yeomans bought the former real estate that once was on the plot in 2001 for £ 1.7 million and built their new house.
Gardner bought a modest detached house next to the door for £ 2.8 million in 2015 and was given permission to demolish it and replace it with an ultramodern house with four floors.
The houses look at the Sandbanks peninsula, which was mentioned last year as the most expensive coastal area in the UK.
House prices in the area rose with a fifth in 2024 and it is recently named 'Britain's Palm Beach' after the exclusive enclave in Florida.
Many celebrities live or have lived on the peninsula, including former football manager Harry Redknapp, who in 2023 his £ 7 million on the water on the water Bulldozed to make way for a new £ 12 million villa.
The new house will have Palladian style and four separate balconies with wrought iron handrails and will look out more in accordance with the Sunkissed properties around the Lake Como in Italy than the modern mansions with a flat roof.
Other famous faces that Sandbanks have called at home are famous chef, Rick Stein and former beetle member John Lennon.
