Ukraine latest: European leaders to meet in Paris for emergency summit as Keir Starmer signals British troops could help enforce peace deal with Vladimir Putin

Starmer has become the first European leader to suggest that peacemakes can be used in Ukraine.

Previously, the Prime Minister only hinted that British troops could be involved in protecting Ukraine after a ceasefire.

But in an explicit message aimed at encouraging both European allies and the US, President Donald Trump confirmed to scare a future attack, he confirmed that he could use the army.

The prime minister, who must visit Mr Trump in Washington later this month, said:
