A British holiday maker who has had a heart attack in Morocco claims that she is threatened with arrest if she does not pay £ 22,000 in medical accounts.
Jack Gilder's mother Collette Robinson, 58, was on vacation with a friend in the Valeria Madina Club Resort in Marrakesh, Morocco, when she suddenly started to vomit while she was sitting at the pool.
The mother of Vier from Manchester was taken to nearby Clinique Averroès Hospital, where doctors discovered that she had a heart attack and fit her with a stent.
After being admitted on 11 February, the former Pub -Hospita is still in the hospital and has to pick up £ 22,000 to pay its medical bills.
Collette and Jack, 30, have offered to pay the money in monthly installments, but they say that doctors have warned that they will be arrested if they do not pay in one fixed.
Jack said: 'I compared the prices in Morocco and I have never seen anyone pay for this. She remains the threats to be arrested.
“I have been to tears all the time, normally you can repair things, but I can't repair them.”
Jack said that his mother was on a ten-day vacation with a friend when she suddenly started to get sick and was taken to a private hospital.

Collette had continuous travel insurance, but forgot to update that she had a heart attack last year, which means that she now has to pay for the treatment.
Jack said his mother hopes to get out of the hospital soon, but she can't because she has to pay the money.
He said: 'Her health is recovering – I mean, she is not going to run a marathon quickly.
“But now it's the mental side of things because they just want to let her go home.
'She traveled a lot and she has travel insurance where she always has coverage.
'But she had a heart attack in September 2024 and I don't know why, but she didn't set it up.
“My mother just wanted to go on vacation – she didn't even think about it.”
Jack is unable to visit his mother in the hospital because he does not want to spend money that can be put against the £ 22,000.
He said: 'I can't go there until I know I can take her home.

'I could only go for a week and then I should come home, so I don't want to waste money.
'I received messages from my mother, but she deleted them, so I think she didn't want to worry.
“Then I called her the next day and she said” no “and explained that she was in the hospital.”
