A cosmetic surgeon of celebrities who had an affair with one patient and was declined for misconduct after the death of two others is back in the operating room.
Leading ear, nose and throat surgeon Dr. William Moeney recently launched his practice at Westfield Bondi Junction in Sydney's Eastern suburbs just over two years after his registration was canceled.
In April 2022, the NSW -civil and administrative tribunal took the permit of Dr. Moeney withdrew after finding 'shortcomings in healthcare and treatment' that he provided to two patients who died after surgery.
The tribunal also discovered that Dr. Moeney had a two -year affair with a young woman who is known as 'patient C', whom he first started to treat when she was 22 years old.
While he served his ban, Dr. argued Moeney guilty of the possession of cocaine after he was caught in October 2022 with a bag of the medicine outside his apartment in Bondi.
Dr. However, Moeney eventually won the right to return to the practice in the Court of Appeal in August last year, despite the fact that Justice Mark Leeming admitted that he still has 'mistakes' and 'is not a perfect person, far from'.
Dr. Moeney has since launched his website Rhinoplastysydney.com.au again and 'has returned to practice as a specialized surgeon with a focus on functional and cosmetic rhinoplastic'.

The prohibition of Dr. After Ncat Onderzaartse had found two deaths after NCAT, including a 24-year-old man who underwent a procedure to solve a snoring problem in February 2018.
During the procedure, Dr. Moeney some bleeding, but thought he had repaired the artery.
Two days later, the patient underwent an emergency operation due to recurring bleeding, suffered a heart attack and died.
Another patient who also died to Dr. Moeney for the sinus treatment in 2017.
During the operation, Dr Moeney penetrated the bone under the brain and disturbed an artery, causing bleeding in the right frontal lobe of the 41-year-old man.
The error caused damage to an artery in the brain and the movement of 'brain tissue that contained bone shards', the tribunal thought.

As a result, the blood pressure of the patient escalated alarmingly during the operation and he died later.
The tribunal said that the cases of unsatisfactory professional behavior were 'sufficiently serious' for the suspension or cancellation of Dr. To justify Moeney.
Dr. Moeney admitted the tribunal that he did not use CT scans while performing the operation, which lasted approximately 30 minutes.
The tribunal discovered that he was 'disoriented' while performing the operation and 'was in the skull cavity when he thought he was in the frontal sinus'.
“Unfortunately, I continued with the use of sharp and dangerous instrumentation at the basis of the skull in a high risk position,” said Dr. Moeney in a statement to the tribunal.
The tribunal thought that Dr. Moeney 'could not have done appropriate care' when performing the complex procedure so quickly.
Patient C was a young woman who is Dr. Moeney treated with botox injections, tonsillitis and a nose job for a period of years.
He also prescribed her Duromine, a weight loss medicine.

During a study in February 2017, Dr. Moeney that he had had 'one contact' with the patient in mid -2014 and that they were otherwise friends.
But data obtained by the Healthcare Complaints Committee showed that between October 2013 and January 2016 3,425 SMS messages and 807 phone calls were exchanged between Dr. Moeney and patient C.
The tribunal discovered that the relationship with patient C was unsatisfactory professional behavior.
It described the relationship as 'exploiting and inappropriate', and the behavior as departure 'of both reasonably expected standards and good and ethical behavior'.
The tribunal also found Duromine's prescription by Dr. Moeney to the woman was behavior that was 'considerably lower than what is reasonably expected of a doctor'.
Dr. Moeney told the tribunal in 2021 that he and the woman are concerned with 'mutual flirt'.
NCAT disqualified him for a year as a doctor.
Six months after he was stripped of his registration, the Police Moeney arrested when he was seen in a car outside his Bondi Beach unit, just to go a short distance further.

A drug deal suspected, an officer followed the surgeon, who threw a bag of cocaine along the road.
He argued guilty of one accusation of possessing a forbidden medicine in December 2022 and was sentenced without conviction to a conditional release of 12 months.
Dr. Moeney's license to practice medication was restored by NCAT in March 2024, despite a profession of the Healthcare Complaints Committee.
In a published judgment, Appeal Court Justice Leeming said that Dr. Moeney 'continues to suffer from the mistakes' that led to his ban.
“In particular, there is a chance that he can continue to mislead professional authorities,” the judge wrote.
'But there was sufficient evidence to conclude, as NCAT did, that he can be trusted to practice in an honest and ethical way, that he is not a risk to safety and that his preference for deception can be tackled by appropriate treatment. '
The former surgeon had put a considerable amount of time and effort to tackle his unethical behavior in the past, thought the tribunal.
He has agreed to work under supervision for 12 months as an ear, nose and sole doctor, not to work more than 35 hours a week and not to media.
He also agreed to keep seeing a psychiatrist and psychologist.
