A hugely popular hamburger restaurant is forced to apologize after a customer found a racist message on his reception.
Fergburger, in the New Zealand tourist hotspot of Queenstown, has welcomed the will of A-Listers such as Ed Sheeran, but now achieves the headlines for the wrong reasons.
A customer had eaten in the restaurant on Sunday afternoon, but did not give his name to the server.
They were shocked when they saw that they were labeled 'Ching Chang' on their receipt in the section where their name should go.
A photo of the receipt was shared by the friend of the customer with social media, so that Fergburger performs a public apology.
The restaurant, which has a menu in Chinese on its website, recognized a “recent incident with inappropriate and insensitive labeling on a customer order.”
“We have written the customer to express our gratitude for their feedback, to expand a genuine apology for the necessity and re -confirm our dedication to ensure that no customer experiences a similar situation at Fergburger,” was the statement.
“The behavior that is displayed in this incident is completely unacceptable and does not reflect the values we maintain.”

Fergburger invited the customer to contact them directly if they wanted to discuss the situation and to be kept informed during the investigation into the incident.
The restaurant added that the employee identified on the receipt was not the person who was responsible for the racial Smet.
The company said that cultural sensitivity and inclusiveness training would conduct all its staff and carry out an evaluation of internal policy and procedures.
“We take this issue extremely seriously and are committed to ensure that no customer experiences such behavior again,” the company said.
“We sincerely apologize to the customer involved and our broader community.”
It comes after a restaurant in New York had fired a waiter after an Asian customer had received a receipt on which an offensive racial term was also printed.
Cornerstone Cafe at Avenue B in East Village in Manhattan posted an apology on his Facebook page in 2017 after an employee called a customer 'Ching Chong'.
'This situation leaves me no choice than to terminate this employee for this unjustified act. It definitely does not reflect the way in which the staff of the cornerstone or I think that because of the stupidity of a person, “said the restaurant's manager.

In another similar incident, an employee was fired in a restaurant after writing a racist blemish on the reception of an African-American woman.
Alexia Washington and a friend visited who that is in Oxford, Mississippi in June 2019 and placed a meal order.
But they were shocked when they received a receipt from a male employee at the Drive-through and saw a line reading: “Black B ***** s in Silver Car.”
Mrs. Washington immediately reported the inappropriate comment to the manager, who had the employee apologized.
After she wrote online about what happened, Wylie Coleman posted that a message on Facebook and said that the employee's contract had ended.
He said he sat down with Mrs. Washington for more than an hour to discuss the case.
“Inexplicable for me were the words on the coupons,” he said.
“The first step was brought by myself to the employee who was informed that they were terminated immediately.”
