Stunning reason Sydney Train guard stopped service

Commuters were left when a Sydney train guard stopped the service and passengers told that she had not eaten in six hours and would 'faint' if she kept working.

On Monday, nearly 200 Sydney drivers and guards did not appear for their services as part of continuous strike action, which led to the cancellation and delays for many services.

A guard on a T1 train on the way to Penrith stopped the train and expressed her frustration about the lack of staff.

“Many people are not where they should be and I have been to this train for six and a half hours, I am entitled to some food, yes,” she said in an announcement of the passenger.

'I wait for someone to take over this train so that they can take you to the riff (Penrith) because I need some food.

'I am sorry if that is a problem, but if I faint like the train, it apparently does not see it on paper and I cannot open the doors for you.

“So again, this train will move as soon as I get a new guard to take it away from me.”

Aussies had little sympathy for the fate of the train guard.

In a video that was shared on social media, the guard explained that she had worked for six and a half hours without a meal break

“I did 10 hours without working in hospitality, where you run all the time and on your feet,” said one.

'Builders do 12 hours on their feet all day, no food hear us complaining,' a second added.

A fourth wrote: '6.5 hours? I have worked many services such as chef chef who were so busy that I could not eat for 12 hours'.

Others defended the train guard and explained that food was not allowed in the cabin during a service, and that laws require her to take a break.

“I understand that this is annoying for some people, but to be honest, I admire that she is standing her ground for herself,” said one.

Users of Social Media were divided, with some people having little sympathy for the train watch, while others defended her and claimed that she was entitled to a break under Australian law

The Rail Safety Act 2008 states that train drivers should take a break of 'no less than 30 minutes' between the 'third and fifth hours' of each service.

More than 300 trains were canceled on Monday after Sydney trains had not prevented any other round of planned industrial action by train employees.

The Rail, Tram and Bus Union and Sydney trains drong to commuters to find alternative travel options or to work from home.

Nearly 200 train driver programs and guards from Sydney did not show up for their regular shifts, which caused significant delays for commuters.

The industrial action comes after the NSW government has brought the RTBU to the Fair Work Commission after what it described as an 'unprecedented' number of employees who are called sick on Friday.

No less than 95.3 percent of all Friday services were delayed or canceled.

From Friday to Sunday, 1,526 train drivers and guards were absent and did not report for their normal shift, which resulted in 3,935 services that were canceled or delayed.

The industrial action comes after the trade union and the state government have not reached an agreement in their long -term payment conflict.

Union officials initially insisted on a wage increase of 32 percent for four years, but the government offered 15 percent for the same period, including a federally mandatory Superanniety increase.

The trade union later gave a counter offer of approximately 20 percent for three years that it withdrew after the legal steps were launched.

The rail network usually transports around a million people a day, with commuters who are confronted with repeated disruptions as the 10 -month negotiations follow.

The state government wants to solve the disruptions and industrial action during a hearing of Fair Work Commission planned for Wednesday.
