Meghan Markle has been told to remove the logo for her new lifestyle brand after the mayor of a small town in Mallorca claimed that it is an 'exact copy' of the historic coat of arms of their city.
On Tuesday, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, renamed her luxury lifestyle brand 'As Always' and launched a website with a cover photo of her hand in hand with her daughter Lilibet, three, in the California Sunshine.
The logo, with a palm tree and two birds, has drawn comparisons with the heraldic emblem of the city of Porreres, where the mayor describes the situation as 'surrealistic'.
Xisca Mora, the mayor of Porreres, said El País that although the city is unable to take legal steps on alleged plagiarism, they demand that the logo must be removed.
The heraldic coat of arms of the city dates from 1370 and is an important part of the cultural heritage of the city.
Xisca said to MailOnline: 'We are still a bit shocked, we thought in the beginning it was fake news, we didn't know what was happening.
“Then many newspapers and media started calling us and we realized that it was serious.”
She said that the similarities are 'unmistakable', adding: “They are the same, except that the birds are a bit different and they have used different colors, but they are almost identical.”
She continued: 'All jokes aside, we really want them to change the logo because our weapons of weapons are very special for our culture and is linked to our city since it was founded hundreds of years ago.
'Every city in Mallorca has its own symbol or coat of arms, and it is very important for our identity, and people are upset that ours is used to sell products such as jam all over the world.
“The truth is that, although this has given our once unknown city in just a few hours, we don't want our coat of arms to be used, we want them to draw the logo.”

She explained: “The suing for plagiarism is complicated and expensive, and a small city council like ours is unable to fight against the English crown.”
She added: “I don't know if she visited a number of Agrotourism sites and saw the weapon of the weapon, because the photo on her website was taken from Mallorca.”
Initially, the city council took the news as a joke, not sure where the logo came from or why it looked like their emblem.
“It was really a bit surreal,” Mora continued. “In the beginning we didn't really understand where it came from and what their goal was to copy our weapon.”
The logo has a palm tree, presumably a nod to the house of the Duke and Duchess in California, and two hummingbirds, which are said to be a favorite of Prince Harry.
The clear form of the design is reportedly created to be a personal and unique emblem for their brand.
According to reports, thorough global searches of registered trademarks were carried out as part of the design process.
Meghan himself recently joked about her first product release, a limited edition pot with strawberry jam, who says: “Of course there will be fruit preserves, I think we are all clear that jam is my jam.”
She added: “But there are so many more products that I just love that I use in my house and now it's time to share it with you, so I can't wait for you to see it.”
Mrs. Mora particularly pointed out that Jam is also one of Porreres's local specialties. “We have the best jam in the world,” she said, adding that “the farmers will be happy” as Meghan decides to market the jam of the city.
However, she has welcomed the 'free publicity' that was generated by Meghan's Rebranding.

The jam that Meghan shared with famous friends. Labeled with Meghan's elegant calligraphy, garnished with a delicate ribbon tied in an arc, it was the embodiment of home -made elegance and gastronomic luxury that she is desperate in the field of her lifestyle brand for projecting

She also made a brutal invitation for the Duchess: “If she wants, we can invite her to the fiestas of the patron saint and let her be the hostess.”
The picturesque Mediterranean community, with its paved streets and historic buildings, was historically one of the agricultural hubs of the island, which produced wines and fruit.
In recent years it has become a moderately popular tourist destination for visitors who explore the island, with the local tourism board getting a 'must-visit' destination for wine fans.
The history behind the coat of arms is unknown. However, the striking similarity can bring the Duchess to an embarrassing third rebrand of her lifestyle company.
It comes after the rebranding of American Riviera Orchard a 'Total Rush' was branded with the help of 'recycled' promos made a year ago.
The relaunch leaked at least 24 hours before its Instagram announcement online, MailOnline can reveal -and only came a fourteen days before her new lifestyle show with business partner Netflix is broadcast.
One communication meter said today: “You would not catch Kim Kardashian, and add the 11th hour of name change 'telegraphed inauthenticity'.
As always, it was launched in a breathless video in selfie style and will sell jam – for the first time by Meghan and her famous friends last year – plus what seems to be huge starters and gardening in the US.

There was also a written message with her Instagram video, which was filmed with the help of Harry

Her new branding contains a palm tree, in addition to two hummingbirds – that probably represents Archie and Lilibet
There was also a subtle excavation with the royal family because Meghan told the followers that so far she could not have share her passion for food and at home. She closed her blog The Tig and Social Media Accounts when she fell in love with Prince Harry.
Prior to Meghan's announcement this week, Internet -Speurneuzen had already discovered a Shopify website that she had set up for her as always products, with an unseen photo of the hob of the Duchess.
It is assumed that the shot of the Duchess of Sussex was taken with the help of a mixing bowl during Meghan's original American Riviera Orchard (ARO) Promo almost a year ago.
She wears the same white outfit and seems to have been filmed in the same kitchen for the short teaser trailer filmed when the existence of ARO was revealed on March 14.
It also seems that Meghan and her team have made a last-minute change about the branding and the previous URL as-ant-store.myshopify.com now brings shoppers to her new website Asever.com.
Meghan's mixing bowl photo was replaced last night by the photo of her hand in hand with her daughter Lilibet in the garden of their Montecito Mansion while skipping over the lawn.
One brand expert told MailOnline: 'It seems to have been a total hurry – despite what Meghan says about when ever goes back to 2022.
'They clearly had to leave the American Riviera orchard, but all promos are recycling because of the trademark dispute. The leak happened yesterday and you have to wonder if her hand was forced. “
