The bodies of Hamas' youngest hostages Kfir Bibas and his brother are formally identified, but the third body has not sent Israel back to their mother.
Hamas brought back the bodies of four hostages to Israel yesterday, whereby the fourth was identified as Oded Lifschitz.
KFIR Bibas was only nine months old when he was abducted from a Kibbutz on October 7 with his mother, Shiri Bibas, and his four -year -old brother Ariel.
The father Yarden Bibas of the children was released earlier this month by Hamas as part of the Stakes -the Fires.
In a statement, the Israeli defense (IDF) said: 'After completing the identification process by the National Institute of Forensic Medicine in collaboration with the Israel Police, IDF representatives informed the Bibas family that their beloved, Ariel and KFIR Bibas, are identified.
'According to the assessment of professional officials, based on the information available to us and forensic findings from the identification process, Ariel and KFIR biba's were brutally murdered by terrorists in captivity in November 2023.
'During the identification process it was determined that the extra body received is not that of Shiri Bibas and no match was found for other hostages. This is an anonymous, non -created body.
'This is a violation of the greatest seriousness by the Hamas Terrorist organization, which according to the agreement is obliged to return four deceased hostages. We require Hamas Shiri to return at home, together with all our hostages.
'Ariel Bibas was four years old at the time of his death and Kfir Bibas was ten months old at the time of his death. They were abducted with their mother, Shiri Bibas, from their house in Nir Oz. Yarden Bibas, the father of Ariel and Kfir, went outside to protect them and was abducted before the kidnapping of Shiri and the children. Yarden returned as part of the agreement for the return of the hostages on 1 February 2025.
“We extend our sincere condolences to the Bibas family during this incredibly difficult time and remain committed to do everything possible to ensure that Shiri and all hostages are brought home as quickly as possible.”
This is a breaking news story that more must follow.
