A British man who was accused of having a pensioner with an ax in Finland after he was reportedly tied up and raped, his mother said, “I am not guilty.”
Garo Jlitakryan, 32, is on trial in the northwestern part of the country for murder after he admitted that he was taking it to the 75-year-old man in July after he was reportedly tied and raped.
Jlitakryan, from London, was in the country on a charity bike ride for the help of the forces for Heroes, when he claims that he was raped and acted in self -defense in the victim in the remote city of Seinajoki.
Today his mother Laura Jlitakryan described her son as a 'restless' soul, but insisted that he maintained his innocence.
Mrs. Jlitakryan, 55, said MailOnline: 'To be honest, I don't know what happened, but I spoke to him after he was arrested and he told me; “Mom, I'm not guilty”. '
The mother told how her 32-year-old son suffered from Aspergers syndrome and ADHD and was in prison about eight times.
Mrs. Jlitakryan said: 'Garo has special needs – he has Aspergers and ADHD.
“He didn't live with me since he was 14 when he was admitted to a unit with special needs in Swansea in Zuid -Wales.

“He came back to London when he was 18, but he got into trouble.
“He has been in prison about eight times – for burglary and assault.
'When he came out the last time he said he was going to raise money for a good cause for help for heroes.
“And he first left for Scotland and Ireland on his bike in September 2023 and then he got the ferry to Sweden and from there he went to Finland.
“He seemed to be happy there. He lived on a farm and took care of 72 dogs.
“I spoke with him just before he was arrested in August last year.
“I tried to hold him the next day, but there was no answer and then I received a phone call from the British embassy in Finland some time later and told me he had been arrested.
“Since then I have not found anything anymore.
“I don't know if he's drunk or what happened.”
Jlitakryan is confronted with at least 10 years in prison, if found guilty, after the attack that took place last July while he was in the Nordic country on a charity bike ride for help for heroes.
The Londoner told the court in South Ostrobothnia, Noord -West Finland, he had attacked Holma in his flat in Seinajoki at the end of July after he was raped.
Jlitakryan, who works like a valet, said he had been through Europe on a charity ride and ended up in Finland last July.
He documented his cycling trip on Instagram and even posted a video update on July 31 – only two days after Holma was extracted.
In the images, Jlitakryan films his dancing shadow while moving his hips to the song 'Someday', with the texts 'Don't give up, keep going, it will be good' in the background.

The two men met on a spa in Kauhava on July 27, one day after Jlitakryan arrived in Finland via a ferry. They then spent the night in a hotel room that was paid for by Holma.
On July 28, the 75-year-old was imprisoned at CCTV with Holma when he bought him a new phone before he brought him to his house in Seinajoki, where Jlitakryan did some gardening for Holma.
Jlitakryan said: 'He told me that if I helped him, he could give me sexual favors, but I didn't want sexual favors, I just wanted to rest and charge my phone.
'We ate lunch together, which tasted terribly, then I fell asleep. When I woke up, I was tied up with connections. I couldn't move well, “he told the South Ostrobothnia District Court, where his process is held.
He claims that the pensioner has raped him. “The test was terrible. When it was over, he rolled next to me. Then he started snoring and I decided to escape. I went to the kitchen and cut my tires there, “he said.
Jlitakryan said the court that Holma then prevented him from leaving and threatened him with an ax that said: “No one would believe him.”
He added: 'The man had an ax in his hand, I had no choice but to defend myself. It was him or me. He slid out and fell and I went to hit him with the wooden handle of the ax, but I also slid out and the ax hit the man.
“I remember struck him twice, maybe three times. The man did not move and so my idea was to leave. '
Researchers believe that the pensioner was killed on July 29 between midnight and 2.14 hours.

Jlitakryan was eventually arrested by the police on August 17 and worked at a Husky farmhouse almost 300 miles away after the car was left in a ditch
Jlitakryan said: 'My bike was in the man's car. I packed my things, took the ax and my devices that loaded, panicked and then fled into the car, drove to the east. '
Holma's car was found in a ditch outside Kyyjarvi – about a 90 -minute drive from the victim's house – just a few hours later.
Jlitakryan blamed the accident to a deer that 'appeared out of nowhere', according to a WhatsApp message that had been sent to his friend on July 29. “If the police had arrived, I would have been sewn,” he added that it is over the abandoned car behind.
The ax that is used when killing is not found. While one ax was discovered in Holma's apartment, only his DNA was found on it.
A second ax could be seen in the frame of Jlitakryan's bicycle on photos that were taken by a local place on 27 July. The second ax was not found.
The Brit said he used the ax of the victim to kill him, although he gave different versions of where he threw it away and the police were unable to find the weapon. He denied taking an ax on his cycling trip.
In the weeks after the killing, the 32-year-old online would have searched for information about the crime of the body of the pensioner even found.
The daughter of the murdered man told the court that she kept an alarm after he had not heard of him and the police eventually found her father on August 14, more than two weeks after his death.

In his last Instagram before he was arrested, Jlitakryan placed a drunk monologue about 'The language barrier is a piss take' and that if you 'do not learn language, you will feel an outsider'.
Swigering from a glass, he added: 'I don't know, I can just leave this place, it's a stressful thing. You can't even get a relationship because you can't speak the language. '
Other images let him work on the Husky farmhouse and there is also a photo of his black bike with which he cycled.
Justice officers have demanded a ten -year prison sentence for Jlitakryan.
The court ordered an exam for mental health care for the suspect, after which the trial will resume.
