The police have started an extensive search for a British businessman who disappeared from his luxury hotel in Nairobi.
Campbell Scott, a senior director at the listed data analysis company Fico, was missing on Monday evening by a colleague with whom he traveled to the Kenyan city.
After arriving at the JW Marriott Hotel in the city center of Nairobi on Sunday, Scott was last seen when he left the hotel around 11:15 am on Monday.
His colleague was unable to reach the 58-year-old at 6 pm and was told by the hotel staff to call the police an hour later.
Hotel management, security and police officers then started looking for him before the case was taken over by senior investigators who visited hotels and bars in the wealthy Westlands neighborhood to see if they could find information about him.
So far, according to the Times, at least five people, including guards and hotel staff, have made statements to the police.
But there seem to be no leads yet, because officers have now asked Interpol to gain access to Scott's telephone records to find out if someone contacted him before he disappeared.
The businessman, who came to Fico from Experian UK in 2014, would attend a three -day workshop with high officials from the UK, the US and various African countries to discuss markets for new products.
