Senator Mitch McConnell, 83, will announce on Thursday that, according to the Associated Press, he will not seek re -election at the Senate.
“Seven times my colleague Kentuckians sent me to the Senate,” he plans to say on the Senate floor.
'Every day in between I am humiliated by the confidence they have placed in me to do their business here. Representing our Commonwealth has been the honor of your life. I will not look for this honor in an eighth time. My current term in the Senate will be my last. '
McConnell, the longest serving GOP-Senate leader, has fought against a series of health problems and several waterfalls.
He also earned the anger of Donald Trump and his Maga supporters after a lace feud.
McConnell voted against three of Trump's top cabinet Picks – Pete Hegseeth, Tulsi Gabbard and RFK Jr.
This is a crushing new story and will be updated.
