The wife of California Fire Captain Rebecca Marodi has been identified, has a suspect in her murder.

Marodi, 49, was found with several stab wounds in her Ramona house around 20:58 pt on Monday.

First-responders have managed life-saving measures, but Marodi succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead on the spot.

The office of San Diego Sheriff identified her wife, Yolanda Marodi, 53, as her suspected murderer on Thursday afternoon.

The two seem to have been together since at least 2022 when Yoland shared an Instagram photo that announced their engagement.

“No words can express the joy and in -depth happiness and gratitude that I experience every day I can call her my wife by her side,” Yolanda said at the time.

Marodi had to go to Cal Fire for more than 30 years and was planning to retire this year, according to KABC.

“Her death is a deep loss for her family, friends and all who had the privilege of working next to her,” said Cal Fire.
