Alec Baldwin has opened the disastrous impact that the rust was on his mental health, and admits that he is happier when he sleeps than in his awake life.
In October 2021, cinematographer Halyna Hutchins died when a gun used the A-list actor as a plug that was fired on the set of Western film.

His trial for involuntary manslaughter was thrown away in August 2024.
In his new TLC reality show The Baldwins, Alec spoke frankly about how he was mentally emptied by the shooting, while wife Hilaria Baldwin revealed how he was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
“The past year was just terrible,” Alec admitted as he spoke in his confessional.
“There were times when I would lie in bed and I would just go:” I can't get up. ” And that is not at all like me. I am not like that in any way. Never.'
Hilaria, 41, speaking in her own confessional strength, added: 'Everyone who is close to Alec has seen his mental health abnormality.

“He was diagnosed with PTSD and he says at his darkest moments, if an accident had happened, why am I still here, why should I not be?”
Hilaria noted that her husband's character change was 'painful'.
She spoke to him and continued: “You wake up in the morning and you are:” Oh God, why am I waking up? ” You are at the point where you are so dark … it's so painful. '
Alec replied: “My good friend recently said to me:” How are you? ” And I said, “I am happier when I sleep than when I'm awake.”
“Although this is difficult and there are times when I don't know how to proceed, I look at the children and I see how hard we try to create happiness for them, even if we are masks for ourselves,” Hilaria said.
'I know what we are going through might be unique, but every family experiences difficult times …
'All we can do is do our best and try to make our children happy. And so that's what we do. '
Alec and Hilaria knew in 2012 and his parents for seven children.

“This has just been surrealistic, I mean, I can't even believe we are going through this,” Alec said to his wife in another scene.
'And I always feel more pain about you than me because I think to myself, I'm going to do my best to just get through it, and when I think of what it has done to you and how much it does you and everything. '
