A former NATO commander has called on the UK to consider conscripts 30,000 British a year to stimulate the exhausted forces of the country.
General Sir Richard Shirrreff, a retired senior British army officer, urged the UK and his NATO to prepare for war with Russia.
He said that the 'betrayal of Ukraine' of US President Donald Trump must fire a 'starting gun' for Western countries to prepare for conflict with Vladimir Putin.

Next week the Prime Minister will visit Mr Trump in Washington DC in the aftermath of the White House that Europe tells to take responsibility for himself and the defense of Ukraine.

Sir Richard told Sir Keir that he would “be laughed outside the court” if he did not use the conversations to signal the UK defense expenditure, would rise to at least 3 percent.
He also sketched his demand for the UK to consider the military service of around 30,000 British per year to increase the size of the British army to 100,000.
“Where do the air defense missiles defend London, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast, other large British cities?” Sir Richard told the I -RANT.
'Where is the mobilization of the defense industry, the mobilization of the national economy to wage war?
“This is big things. This is really serious. Munich 1938 was a betrayal of Czechoslovakia, but at least it forced Chamberlain to start hermaments.
'Munich 2025 is a betrayal of Ukraine.
“But it should also fire a starting gun to prepare Great Britain and NATO for war with Russia, because that is ultimately the only way we will keep peace.”
Sir Richard called earlier this week in a Daily Mail article in a Daily Mail article to make plans for military service and said that 'Trump has not left any other choice'.
His requirements for increased defense expenditure were repeated last night by Sir Nick during an appearance on the BBC demand program.
He warned that the armored forces of the UK were 'remarkably hollow' after he had been knocked down by successive Tory and Labor Governments.
“The British army has given up a large number of its tanks and artillery pieces to Ukraine and no longer has enough for what is needed,” he said.
'This, to be honest for everyone, has been a process of neglect for a period of 30 years. What happened at that time is of course that warfare has also evolved.
'We have these gaps that have to be filled, but it is also the case that we have to digitize and take into account the digital age in which we are now.
'But I think we should also be clear about how vulnerable our country is – 95 percent of the UK data comes through submarine cables, 45 percent of our gas comes from Norway in submarine pipelines.
'We get 40 percent of our food through the sea, many of our critical national infrastructure is not well protected by cyber defenses.
'We are in a position, I think, where we are currently extremely vulnerable. Whether we like it or not, that means that we have to protect ourselves.
'And the kind of attack that Ukraine has suffered through drones and rockets over the past three years is untenable as far as the UK is concerned.
“We can perhaps park a torpedo hunter in the Thames to protect parts of London, but nothing more than that.”
