A man was seriously injured in a defending in a Holocaust monument near the American embassy in Berlin.
The police closed the area in the city center after the incident around 6 pm today, the newspaper Tagesspeigel reported.
The man was reportedly injured with a sharp object and was transported to the hospital by the fire brigade.
The attack is supposed to have taken place on the north side of the vast Holocaust monument, near the American embassy, reports local media.

The German police said on Friday that a man was seriously injured in an attack, 'possibly with a sharp object' near the American embassy.
“A man was seriously injured there by an unknown person,” the police said on X, and “rescue workers take care of different people on the site who had to witness the events.”
A police spokeswoman said to AFP: “The unknown man attacked the other man, possibly with a sharp object.”
