The body of a missing man was found in his immersed vehicle after his mother proposed to follow the GPS system of the car.
Isaiah Lowe, 21, was missing on January 24 after he was last seen in a black Chevrolet Camaro with red stripes two days earlier in California.
On Monday, Lowe's mother, Natalie Wallace, told the police that she had previously followed her son's car with the help of a GPS device.
The device was placed to a location next to a highway where the police discovered a damaged gate, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
Researchers then found debris of what Lowe's car seemed to be that was lower over the shoulder of the highway along the fence.
Sheriff's search and rescue volunteers were called on site and began to look for a nearby river in Bonsall, which is about 50 miles south of San Diego.
Volunteers and law enforcement searched the San Luis Rey River and found Lowe's Camaro.
Recent rainfall had buried the car and the authorities found the vehicle completely immersed. They were looking for the evening, but were forced to call rescue efforts to the next day.

On Tuesday, the police recovered Lowe's vehicle and made the horrible discovery of the body of the 21-year-old in his Camaro.
The office of the medical researcher was informed and started working on determining a cause of death. The office told DailyMail.com that the case is currently being processed.
It is unclear when Lowe's vehicle was immersed in the river or how long his body was under water.
The last time Lowe was seen alive were security cameras from him in his car. It was believed that he was working on the night shift before he disappears.
On February 1, his mother on Facebook shared that they had not seen or heard their son and argued with the public to continue to share his missing poster.
They said it was not characteristic of him not to respond and were concerned about his well -being.
His family shared a video on social media about their frustrations about the investigation two weeks after his disappearance and the community asked for help.
On Wednesday, Lowe's mother shared the devastating news that Lowe was found.
'Facebook family, I don't know what to say, but thanks all for searching, praying and looking for my baby Isaiah Lowe. He was found, but not the way we wanted to find him. Keep myself and our family in your prayers, “she wrote.
