While the American and Canadian men were confronted in the 4 Nations Final in Boston, two members of the Professional Women's Hockey League threw on the ice.
In what is now considered the first fight in the professional hockey history of the big women, Ottawa accused Vooruit Tereza Vanisova and Jill Saulnier of the Boston Crew, each to row minors after attacking each with eight minutes to play.
The Fracas started with both teams fighting for a separate choice along the shelves. The ruthless physicality of Saulnier eventually left Vanisova, who fires with a flurry of bumps.
Neither fighters dropped gloves, as usual in hockey fights, but both seemed to get several good shots before they were separated by civil servants.
It was not entirely the same scene as the Team USA Team Canada 4 Nation matchup last week in Montreal, where three fights took place during the first nine seconds of game promotion. The US would eventually win that game before they fell to their northern neighbors on Thursday in the 4 Nations Final.

As fans indicated on social media after the game, Vanisova ended with what is known as the Gordie Howe Hat Trick after recording a goal, an assist and a fight.
“Finished with a Gordie Howe, renamed the Vanisova Hat-Trick,” wrote a fan on X.
The rest of the game was just as exciting as Susanna Tapani scored on an escape with 47 seconds in the extension to give the fleet a 3-2 victory over the indictment/
Ottawa dominated in the extension period, but Tapani broke freely in her own end and surpassed defenders before beating goalkeeper Emerance Maschmeyer.
Vanisova secured the match for the indictment with 2.9 seconds in the third period after Ronja Savolainen scored the first charging goal with 3:33 in the Regulation.
Theresa Schafzahl and Alina Muller scored goals in the first period for Boston.
Aerin Frankel closed the game with 21 saves in front of the fleet, while Maschmeyer put 27 shots aside.
Schafzahl opened the score at 8:18 when she took a pass from the resident of Ottawa, Jamie Lee Rattray and Maschmeyer Glove side beat with a shot from the lock.
A little less than eight minutes later, the fleet rose 2-0 when Muller went five-hole on Maschmeyer on a partial partial escape.

Five of the seven meetings between these teams were decided by one goal, including both this season, both fleet wins.
The charges host the Montreal Victoire on Saturday.
The fleet will be the next during the collection tour when they are in Buffalo, New York to be opposed to the New York Sirens on Sunday.
The second season of the PWHL started in November.
Each team has a logo and nickname after having gone last year. And there has already been talk of expansion, with private individuals financed and centrally controlled PWHL who is looking for two franchises by next year.
