The coalition has said that it will match $ 8.5 billion of Labor with Medicare financing, because the prime minister revealed his plan to ensure that “nine out of ten visits to the doctor will be free.”

The announcement has experts who suggest that Labor could base his election campaign on dealing with the Medicare system.
It remains unclear whether the opposition will support a similar initiative if they came to power this year.
Treasurer Jim Chalmers joined the ABC's Insiders program after Mr Taylor's comments and said that the shadow minister had used 'very difficult language' on Sunday morning.
“It doesn't matter what they say today, you can't trust Peter Dutton with Medicare,” said Mr. Chalmers.
Mr. Chalmers said that half of $ 8.5 billion was provided for in his previous budget update.
“It is difficult to come up with better use of public resources than to strengthen Medicare and to help with the costs of living.”
Albanian unveiled the Medicare plan prior to his Sunday rally in Launceston.
“Labor has built Medicare, we will protect and improve it for all Australians,” said Mr Albanese in a statement before the announcement.

“It will make Medicare even stronger, help with the costs of living and ensuring that every Australian receives the best health care they deserve.”
After Labor's most important budget policy in 2023, aimed at general practitioners visits for younger Aussies and the elderly, and invests $ 3.5 billion to triple the stimulus who was paid to doctors when they invoiced those age groups in the bulk.
