Trade discussions with India will be generated on Monday, because the business secretary wants to place the Scotch Whiskey on every table in Delhi.

Jonathan Reynolds will meet his opposite number in the Indian capital to discuss trade with what the third largest economy in the world will be towards the end of the decade.

Concluding a trade agreement with India is one of his 'top priorities' in his role, and he said he was willing to make 'difficult decisions' to make it happen.

Mr. Reynolds said to the mail: 'Getting a trade agreement with India is one of my top priorities since I came to the government and played this role.

'I want to see more bottles of Scotch-Whisky on worksheets in Delhi, crates of fine British goods that are sold to the growing middle class of India, and exciting new opportunities for our leading service agencies to do more things in markets that are strongly protected and so much years closed for them. '

The journey of Mr. Reynolds will be the 15th round of British commercial discussions since the negotiations have been put on hold since the Indian elections last year.

A deal with India is considered one of the largest post-Brexit prices, with some of the largest deals that have offered a reduction in rates for Scotch Whiskey and Auto-Export to India.

Agreements on legal services and production can also provide benefits for both parties, although the question of whether the VK should offer more visas to Indian employees.

It is predicted that India will have the highest growth rate in the G20 in the coming five years and will be the third largest economy in the world by 2028.

With an expected 95 million strong middle class by 2035, ministers see opportunities to improve trade opportunities for British companies.

However, negotiations are impeded by disagreements about visas and better access for service companies. India also wants an agreement to protect its employees against the contributions of national insurance.

In April 2022, Boris Johnson promised a free trade agreement in the VK India 'by Diwali' that year, but the reality turned out to be more difficult to deliver.

Although Mr Reynolds promises to make 'difficult decisions', it will be difficult for work to compromise on visas, because it must be considered tough for migration.

Mr. Goyal is also considered one of the most difficult traders in the world, where the protectionist approach to trade in India is maintained.

During his two -day visit, Mr. Reynolds will meet Mr. Goyal in the National Crafts Museum of Delhi. The couple will also visit the BT India office in Gurugram – one of the largest British employers in India.

In the meantime, the Minister of Fortress Poppy Gustafsson will appeal to investors in financial capital Mumbai and Tech Hub Bengaluru.

The VK and India are currently the sixth and fifth largest global economies, with a trade relationship worth £ 41 billion and investments that support more than 600,000 jobs in both countries.

Mr. Reynolds hopes a deal with increasing the export from the UK to India, which improves the trade for life sciences.

More than 600 British technology and life science companies are already located in India, who do everything, from delivering virtual lessons to students in disadvantaged communities and helping patients to recover from medical surgery.

Their deals and partnerships are appreciated on tens of millions of pounds, and Mr Reynolds hopes to increase this.

British companies exported a total of £ 17 billion goods and services to India in the 12 months to September 2024.
