There is a large -scale search for a fisherman who fell from a recreational fishing boat.
Crews of Water Police, Lifesaver Helicopter and Marine Rescue NSW were called to Newcastle, on the central coast of the state, after reports that a person understood as a man fell on Sunday at 1 p.m. from a boat.
The NSW police told Daily Mail Australia that the person was part of a fishing competition and overboard went approximately 55 km off the coast.
'The water political vessel from Port Stephens is expected to scene at 3.10 pm; However, the helicopter must be on site at 2.45 pm, “said a spokesperson.
No further details of the missing person could be provided.
It was said that a shark was involved in the incident, but it was not confirmed by the police.
