Three people were killed and two others were injured when a boat on the New York Sunday capsized from New York on Sunday.
Authorities received reports from a 'ship in need' and a 'fallen boat' with five people in the Ambrose canal – that separates Staten Island from New Jersey and Brooklyn – around noon, Gothamist reports.
FDNY, NYPD and the Coast Guard then removed several people from the ice -cold water and rushed to a nearby hospital, according to ABC 7.
Three dead were declared dead.
Another was admitted to the hospital in critical condition and another was in a stable state.
It was also said that officials were looking for a sixth person, reports NBC 4 New York.
It is unclear what the boot accident caused and what kind of vessel was overthrown.
The identities of the deceased have not yet been released.
