After 30 years, Antony Green will resign as the most important election expert of the ABC.
The news was announced on Wednesday morning by the National Omroep.
“By the time of the next elections I will be 68 and I know I am not as sharp and fast as five years ago,” Green said in his announcement.
“It is becoming increasingly difficult. It is like a football player, sometimes they play too long in a season, and I make sure I don't. '
The expert has given a live analysis of more than 100 national and federal elections.
This year's federal election coverage is the last supported by Green On-AR.
Instead, Green stays behind the scenes of the election reports of the network.
The ABC's director of News, Justin Stevens, paid tribute to Green's career.
“Antony Green is an Australian attitude and a very popular figure with the audience,” he said.
'For more than three decades, he has played one of the most important roles of the ABC with precision, impartiality, dedication and unprecedented expertise.
“He has the ABC's immense gratitude and respect. I am sure that our audience thanks me with him and wishes him the best, while he prepares for his last federal election broadcast. '
