Two Airbnb guests were run over by an SUV and chased through the street with a machete after a row above a double-booked house, a court heard.
Abdalrhman Ali and Ryan Jones had booked a weekend in the house called 'Comfortable Stay' after they had spotted it on the site for vacation rental.
But when they arrived in the house in the Cathays area of Cardiff, they discovered that Johnathan Newbury, 33, and Elliott Fiteni, 23, were already there.
Mr. Ali and Mr. Jones were warned by a woman who would 'bomb' Fiteni and Newbury, Cardiff Crown Court heard on Monday.
“The meaning of this term became clear of what happened then,” James Wilson officer told the court.
Wilson said that a black SUV arrived with four or five men, of whom at least one was holding a machete in Zombie when they got out.
CCTV images showed the men who chased Mr. Jones and Mr. Ali with one of the chasing people who heard shout: “I'm going to tear up these little f ***.”
While Mr. Jones and Mr Ali and two other friends walked past a nearby road, the black SUV was shown 'immediately accelerated' and two of them struck as they crossed.

Newbury, and Fiteni (photo), from Cardiff, are both accused of attempted murder or a lesser accusation of trying to cause serious physical injury and to wear a machete in public

CCTV images showed newbury (depicted) and Fiteni who chased Mr. Jones and Mr. Ali with one of the pursuers who hear screaming: “I'm going to tear up these little f ***.”
Mr. Ali and Mr. Jones were thrown in the air and left with a series of injuries, although these were remarkable and fortunately not as catastrophic as they could have been, “said Mr. Wilson.
“Mr. Jones, Mr. Ali and another friend had booked an Airbnb in Bruce Street called The Comfortable Stay,” he added.
'By chance a booking was made at the same address on behalf of the Lord Fiteni, who accepted that he remained in the address together with Mr. Newbury.
“They were already in the building when Mr. Jones and Mr. Ali walked there.”
Mr. Jones suffered injuries to his pelvis and right foot during the attack in July last year, while Mr. Ali lost consciousness and sustained injuries to his jaw, ribs, chest and belly.
Wilson said that Newbury was identified by the victim that Mr Jones had seen him before in a hospital and Fiteni admitted that he had been in the car.
The public prosecutor said: 'We argue against a background of threats and abuse that they were haunting dangerous blades and used a heavy vehicle to target pedestrians with a clear risk of deadly serious damage.

Newbury (photo) is also accused of racially aggravated intimidation
“Both Mr. Newbury and Mr Fiteni were involved in a joint attack with the intention of killing or at least causing serious injury.”
Newbury, and Fiteni, from Cardiff, have both accusations of attempted murder or a lesser accusation of an attempt to cause serious physical injury and to bear a machete in public.
Newbury has also denied an accusation of racially aggravated intimidation.
The process at Cardiff Crown Court continues.
