A woman in the flat below can be seen leaning out of a window with a cardboard box ready to catch the dog.
The dog finally loses its grip and falls from the side of his perch.
However, before a terrible accident can occur, the woman below creates the dog in the box and rushes it into the safety of her house while neighbors and spectators applaud and cheer her.
Alicinha, the Yorkshire Terrier in the video, was remarkably unharmed after her tumbling.
She escaped through the window of the flat of her owner while they were gone and got caught.
Neighbor Clarisse Saraiva da Silva, who lives below, was informed of the affected dog and ran to her window to see it cling to a shutter above.

After she found the owner, she gave a blanket to the caretaker of the building to put on the floor below, grabbed a cardboard box, filled it with clothing and kept it out of her window.
Alicinha was remarkably unharmed after her tumbling.
The dramatic salvation happened last Thursday in an apartment block in Guarulhos on the outskirts of Sao Paulo.
Mrs. Saraiva da Silva said she came into action after his return around 3 p.m. and heard neighbors scream and ask for help.
She told a local TV station: 'People started calling me and when I went to the window to see what all the fuss was left and I saw the little dog I ran up and started beating on the door but don't go on answer.
'Then I grabbed a blanket and left him behind the caregiver so that he could make a mattress in case she fell.
'The box was a last-minute idea and I thought:' If you can't hold, at least the fall mitigates. '
Clarisse said her neighbors had called the owner on her mobile, but she was stuck in traffic.
“She was very scared when she discovered what had happened.
“She was very emotional when she returned and we could give Alicinha back to her.”
Local residents said they thought the dog had climbed a protective just over the window and got out through a hole at the top.
