President Donald Trump's handshake became a talk point again this week after an uncomfortable meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Dr. Claudia Diez, a professor of psychology in New York, told DailyMail.com that someone with such a 'predatory' handshake does this to show power and control.
She explains: “The predator indicates that he is in control by determining the distance of the arm (pulling in, pushing forward) and the length of the shake, which the pray cannot agree or exert control.”
While Trump greeted Macron outside the west wing of the White House on Monday, his handshake continued, with Macron apparently trying to pull away before he locked up awkwardly.
The recipient of the handshake, Macron – to which Dr. Diez mentions the 'prey' – took an 'apparently joyful but not -stringing freezing reaction'.
The body language expert Tonya Reiman, based in New York, told this website that she calls the handshake she saw the 'Trump Pump' on Monday, where Trump 'Tights tight, shakes vigorously and attracts someone to an attempt to get a person overwhelmed and allow Trump to have the upper hand. “
Just like Dr. Diez says she: “The goal is to quickly make dominance and power apply by a physical gesture.” For those who come across the Trump -Dump, Mrs. Reiman has some tips to navigate it successfully without being rude.

Body language expert Judi James referred to Trump's handshake style as a 'Death Clasp' and Dr. Diez says that this method shows that the 'predator is in fighting mode'
She says that this can be done by using subtle body language instructions to reclaim your space while retaining professionalism and respect. ”
First she says it is important to “neutralize the dominance by stepping somewhat to the left, so that the Power player has to adjust his or her body.”
She then recommends that you subtly adjust your palm and 'putting the handle back in a vertical position' while you vibrate to show the Power Dynamic.
Finally, if necessary, she proposes to match their hold without being too aggressive.
And if a person tries to attract them, Mrs. Reiman advises “the deletion of your elbows against your body to maintain physical leverage.”

Body language expert Patti Wood, who is located from Georgia, told DailyMail.com that she has been observing Trump's Handbatches Style for years.
But she reveals that he refused for a long time to participate in handsin.
She says: “For decades, Trump refused to shake hands, supposedly because of a fear of germs and the knowledge that when you refuse to shake hands, you seem to have the upper hand.
'This then states the other person out of balance and does not let him have an easy report with you.
“His PR team advised him to shake hands when he ran for President for the first time.

Dr. Claudia Diez is a professor at the Icahn School of Medicine on Mount Sinai in New York
“Nevertheless, I have been reading his handshake since then, and his basic line or usual handshake is often the non -losse handshake to establish power and dominance.”
By using his 'Death Clasp', Mrs. Wood says that he makes his position clear with other world leaders.
Together with a long -term and strong grip, she says that one of his other techniques she has observed is a “strange grab and upward motion hand pressure that the other person tries to attract him.”
Mrs. Reiman is doubtful that Trump formally was taught this hand -hole technique of 'unspoken dominance' and she imagines that it is a personal method that he has refined privately and 'now he uses it during most of his interactions'.
