The body of a Scottish businessman who disappeared from a Kenyan hotel was found, in the midst of reports his remains were dumped in a bag in the wilderness.
Campbell Scott, 58, had been in the country to attend a conference in the capital Nairobi, but disappeared more than a week ago within a few hours of arrival.
The businessman, who was born in Dunfermline, stayed in the JW Marriott Hotel in Nairobi.
It is said that his body has been discovered in a bag for more than 80 miles.
Local reports state that two people were arrested in connection with the investigation.
Mr. Scott was a senior director at credit company Fico. Last night the company – where he has been working since 2014 – confirmed that the police had found and identified his body.
A Fico spokesperson added: 'Campbell was missing last Sunday during a business trip to Nairobi. We do not share any further details, because the investigation is in the hands of the police. We have been destroyed by this tragic news. Campbell was a leader in our international scores activities. He played an important role in introducing scores into new markets and growing our company with existing partnerships.
'We mourn his death and will miss his humor and kindness. Our thoughts are at Campbell's family and friends. '

Kenyan media have reported that his body was found in Scraband near Wote, a city around 83 miles from the capital of the African nation, on Saturday by Animal Herders.
Researchers from the crime scene told local news stores that the body was partially dissected and had visible injuries on the hands.
A post-mortem will be carried out instead, but the local press has reported that a taxi driver and nightclub Ober have been arrested as part of the investigation.
Detectives of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations would now merge the details of Mr. Scott's recently known movements and interactions. At least six people, including hotel staff and security personnel, have registered statements as part of the investigation.
Interpol has been drawn up for help and the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in contact with local authorities working on the case.
Mr. Scott checked in his hotel on Saturday 15 February at 1 p.m. and left his room an hour later.
Local media reported that images of security cameras showed him in the loading pants and a blue shirt, apparently relaxed and jovial, waving to the staff before he walked away. He returned around 4 p.m., with the images that would show him that he exchanged polite features with the guardians of the hotel before he walked back to his room.
The next day he left at 11.15 am, with colleagues that they had the impression that he took a walk to shake the jet lag and be back for lunch.

When he was last seen, he wore a rugby sweater from Scotland. A colleague could not reach him on his British telephone number at 6 p.m., and at 7 p.m. the worried workmate decided to inform hotel management, which encouraged him to call the police.
The search started that night, and by Monday, senior investigators had taken over the hunt.
Mr. Scott's online CV said he went to Woodmill High School in Dunfermline before he went to study business at Kirkcaldy Technical College in Fife.
In October 2014 he started working at Fico – an American data analysis company that is known for its credit scoring services – as director of product management
In December 2020 he was promoted to Senior Director and was located in the office in London.
The company website said that he had more than 25 years of experience with data management and was responsible for global production management for regulatory and compliance with the company.
