A British climber was killed by an avalanche while climbing a frozen waterfall in Norway.
The man, who has not been identified, scaled one of the three frozen Gaustatoppfossen -waterfalls on the Gaustatoppen Mountain in Telemark, in southeastern Norway, on Friday when an avalanche rained on him and a friend.
The avalanche of ice and snow buried the men underneath and it took seven hours to reach them.
The British man suffered fatal injuries, whereby his body was only restored on Tuesday afternoon due to bad weather that hinders rescue efforts.
His friend, reportedly a man in the thirty, was injured and was flown to the hospital on Saturday afternoon via a helicopter after it took a few hours of the rescuers to reach him, the sun reports.
The injuries of the surviving man are reportedly not considered life threatening.

Jorn Knustad, a local climbing guide, said that the British man died while doing a climb called the Gausta marathon, who is 'about 17 rope lengths long and is the longest we have here'.
Knustad explained that the area where the two men were climbing was not popular with trippers, because the icy slopes of the frozen waterfall take a long time to scale.
“It is unlikely that they were poorly trained – they would hardly have started such a trip,” he added.
“An avalanche of snow and ice is the cause of this incident.”
“The two Gausta waterfalls rise more than 800m and give a long day out for most,” reads a description on forum UK Klijmen.
The website also warns: 'Climbing is never very difficult, but you have to be prepared for alpine circumstances. Avalanche danger also a danger of the exit channel. '
